Author's Note
One of my all time favorite Rock songs is "Message of Love" by the Pretenders. I remember seeing their video for the song in the early days of MTV. It was, to me, life affirming. They seemed to experience such joy playing together and the songs message rang as profound and necessary. I also enjoyed the simplicity of their style reminiscent of classic Rock 'n' Roll. It is also a mourning piece because of the tragic fate suffered soon after this video was made.

I had a thing for "Message of Love" (and Chrissy Hynde) too. The Pretenders could toss in some Oscar Wilde and get away with it. Love how you stick to two word lines and have it work so rhythmically well, Gahdess. Fine job!
