you think
scorched earth
would mean
scorched earth
not a remnant
of me
right?
you think
the scorching would
incinerate
annihilate
decimate
terminate
me?
think again
it is
in fact
what my seeds
need
to breed
yes
this very fire
intense and hot
burning the bush
burning the lot
that you thought
would wipe me out?
no chance
zilch
nada
that anything
would survive?
think again
the seeds of mine
you just woke 'em up
this carbon black
was only what
the soil lacked
after the burn
will come the rain
the lush green
you'd barely seen
'be back again
the new growth
is days away
rejuvenation
was in the (fire)works
thank you
dear blaze
i know
it is a case of
dejavu
for you
did your job
though couldn't rob
me
of me
for
i
am
l i f e!
i begin
where you end
always.
