It's All In The Way One Looks At The Cards
Some may call a spade a spade,
but perhaps when one looks
from the other side of the card,
many times it is not as first seen,
but rather a heart,
burned and turned upside down,
with it's tail tucked between it's legs.

true...
as i've posted an image on the following forum to an unrelated question... i felt exactly the same,
just because someone saw a spade, and called it such, does not make it...the truth, or the only truth, sometimes the reality can be truly heart numbing.
poignant and profound dear Friend!!

Or with a clasp to wear as a necklace; black onyx! ❤
Nice perspective. There is always more than one way to view something if we are patient enough to look.

It saddens me when people form judgements, regardless of having all the information or not. People are different the world over, their experiences vary, and like it or not, it does play into who we are.
Thank you for visiting, Ahavati.

One can not appreciate nor fully understand the life, feelings of another, for they have not lived it.
Always the benefit of doubt should be given in situations, opinions that differ.
Deep appreciate for your time and thoughts, dear poet.

Couldn't agree more. How can we really judge from where another forms their opinions, you or I, without actually having the same experiences or being raised under the same circumstance or within the same environment. The best we can do is try to understand, make allowances, and seek common ground. So much hatred in this world could be avoided with more compassion and common sense.

Yes, sometimes a good thing to do, then shake vigorously to loosen the false impressions that linger.

The hurt and embarrassment of others judgement taught me a lot, there are so many many other more urgent or interesting things to occupy one's time, such a useless and inane item to add. You be you I'll be me and I guarantee we'll both be the better for it. Excellent work Amorous, definitely a thought provoking write, love the jolt of reminder, the world sometimes needs to be reminded of such things, especially in today's disturbing time's. Much love and deepest of respect,

I have spent a lifetime trying to be the good person my mother was, taught from an early age to be kind, forgiving, and understanding of others. I was extremely fortunate to have been raised by caring parents and I feel there is no honor greater to bestow on them than emulating them.
Thank you so much for believing we all have better things to do than passing judgments.

I am so happy you had such positive role models, we need the beauty found in a beloved child's perspective, it gives hope to all there is still light, most definitely your beam, in this world of so much angst. Much love to you and the deepest of respect,

Seeing is a skill it takes time and patience two commodities the many people don't want to be bothered to use. Up close you know she's crying, from a distance you were sure she was belly laughing,,,,,,,,,,,,,

In our hurried lives, it is easy to quickly glaze over what would otherwise be obvious, and that can be forgiven. It is when we speak out without knowing the full story, we do another, as well as ourselves a disservice.

Very good observationaly piece! and so true.
Reminds me a line from the movie Matrix , paraphrasing: that its not the spoon that's bent but its us who need to bent to see things for what they are.
