Monday Morning
I
Opened my eyes this morning...
as faint whisps of light came through my blinds...
Everything...still quiet...
Everything...still untouched...
Everything...just....still
In these quiet moments I lay still... willing my mind
to take its time....with all those thoughts that clamor
to start my day off hectically.
I turn over then, pulling my blankets tighter...
telling myself...I can change my reality...
telling myself... when I wake up...
None of this Angst and Morning Lethargy will be real.
I tell myself... There is a beach waiting for me...
I tell myself...My Office is really a lovely white table
with an umbrella attached.....
I tell myself...the only reports due ....are the ones
that involve my feet in the water...and a drink in my hand
Then... my alarm clock goes off...smacking me back
into this alternate reality.... I call my life.
Once ....just once...
I'd like to wake up from Reality...
and live in the Dream.
Where's the Matrix when you really need it!
