Extra Words

Why do we feel the need to small talk? Why is silence awkward,  
and we must speak when we walk?
Don't you know money talks  
and BS runs the marathon?  
But we be auctioning off our words  
like we on a telethon!  
Hush, be quiet,  
haven’t you heard that silence is a virtue? You’ve been talking all day  
and your mouth is past its curfew!  
I mean I've got no problem  
with meaningful conversation,  
but talking just to hear yourself talk,  
is like boring masturbation!  
When we talk,  
but have nothing new to say,
my mind goes numb  
and I feel like I'm wasting my day!  
And if I don't know you  
and probably will never see you again, why do you feel the need  
to try to be my best friend?  
You don't need to tell me your life story,  
I really don't care,  
that you have 4 grandchildren  
and they've all got blonde hair.
“I have a 4:30 appointment,  
today with Susie at the spa, and BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH, BLAH BLAH BLAH!”  
You must not have many friends  
if you feel the need to chitchat with me, but guess what, I'm not going to be your friend either,  
not even if you pay me!  
Half the time you talk,  
I'm not listening anyway,  
so don't ask me a question,  
because I won't have nothing to say!  
And if I give you a one word answer  
I'm just getting to the point,  
so stop prying me for information  
that I'm not giving you to anoint,  
to the next person you come across  
cause you can't keep your mouth shut, but want to tell my business,  
because telling yours ain't enough.  
Ok, what I'm really saying is SHUT UP! BECAUSE NOBODY REALLY CARES!!  
I've got my own problems  
and I REALLY DON’T WANT TO SHARE!!!
