OUT OF TIME

Racing to the start without any theme
No replacement part for my worn time machine
Time is tight and I waited too long
to sort with precision a rhyme or a song
In hindsight that decision wasn't too bright
as the hour creeps closer towards midnight
Archetype, well, he's fresh out of ideas
typing out Hell, all he hears and can see is
the clicking ticking demands of the countdown
as the flickering hands of the clock spin around
and I still can't think of a damn thing to say
Oh well, hell, man, at least I gave it a shot anyway
