Shadows & PaiN
ShaDowS & pAiN
ONE
She dances naked with the curtains closed.
She never needs, but feels so exposed
I've heard her say "hearts in pain,
they should never cry."
But I've seen those eyes.
I've watched tears die.
Yet Still she dances in his flame.
Still she begs love to remain.
CHORUS
In her garden one wild flower blooms.
Pure beauty against his manicured gloom.
A bitter twist breeds her most tragic end.
(Before) His shadow and rain return with heartache again.
Baby, let me heal your soul,
I'm the one to make you whole.
Like a bird who won't taste the wind.
How can she win if she never begins?
How will we ever win if she won't ever begin?
TWO
Outside those curtains she disguises her tears.
Deep in his shadow, she's stained by bruised fears.
As she bleeds more questions.
He smiles more lies.
I watch her cry her saddest alibis.
Who plant love where hope won't go?
Then prays for it like they don't know.
How can it (love) grow,
when there's no ground below?
Love won't grow when there's no ground (nothing) below.
THREE
She dances naked with her curtain closed.
She forever needs and feels so exposed.
Between his shadows and the rain,
I'll be your shelter from the pain.
Words become such precious sounds,
when there's no love around.
Words are such treasured sounds,
when there's no love to be found.
