Spanish Queen

A Spanish Queen with a neon dream
left her daffodils on the floor
she said 'You better not knock upon my door,
no more, for it
hurts my ears.'
and he bowed with great courage
but four days too late
to make her wait,
she'd made up her mind, she
wouldn't wait anymore.

How dare he swear in front her Royals
that she would go and stray?
How could he ignore a Queen so blindly
when his mother closed her eyes?
How dare he lack 'manly' courage then,
could he call himself a King?
The kindness in his face
had turned to sin.

She took out a musket and stole him to the woodland
all by herself, she was unafraid.
She'd been patient and tried
to give her love with effort and deep breathing.
He'd destroyed relationships with courtiers,
with friends and with benefactors
with his rusted associates.
It was all just so damn
ugly.

It didn't matter when the winter came
that she'd saved him from the ol' spring rain
and taken him to her kingdom in the Sky.
It didn't matter the day her loved Grandmother died
for he spoke of his education and blamed anyone,
anyone but himself.
She said 'You are selfish, you're possessive, you're obsessive by damn nature
and I loved you until I saw the light.
You had your time to prove,
still you took advantage
now I'll leave you here
and return
to the castle in the Sky.'

A Spanish Queen with a neon dream
and a packet of cigarettes
knows independence and loving one's self is quite important.
Set fire to the memories of all those days where he
insisted on invading all her space
even the place she wrote, well, he wasn't invited.
He said 'It's all because of him, that Mr. Thin.'
and she laughed 'Only if it's you
when you look into a mirror, dear. My grandmother's dead
and still you
pity yourself.'
