Don't Turn the Light Out Yet

I look at your beautiful face.
I don't want the light turned out yet.

There's still so much to do and see.
Please, don't let it be over yet.
I'm still hoping and waiting for
That kiss that might never come,

The kind of kiss that makes
Planets collide and stars weep,
That can only come from true love.

I have so much to do
I haven't done yet.
I finally might have figured out
The secret to being happy.
I want a few years to test out
My theory.

I look at your beautiful face.
You are always and forever
My raven haired angel.
I want so many more years

To be your mom,
And to learn exactly who you are,
The wonderful masterpiece
That somehow came from me.

I want a few years to fulfill
My destiny. I've been trying to
For a long time, I just still don't
Know what it is. I hope it

Has something to do
With helping people.
I've learned... About myself...
That's what makes me feel good.

Christmas is in the air tonight.
The lights are dazzling and nostalgic.
You look like a Christmas angel
Against the majestic tree.

No, please, don't let the ride
Stop yet. I never want to get off.

Please, don't turn my light out yet.
