The Monster in my Closet

Shallow breath seeping out from behind wooden doors.
I can sense it's heartbeat steadily increasing.
I am beginning to panic from anticipation.

I stay frozen in my bed, too frightened to move.
My sisters are gone, I am alone in the dark.
I begin shaking with fear. I call for the help of anyone near!

I realize too late who will come.
He enters my room to ask what's wrong.
I tell him in length of the monster in my closet, delaying his response as long as possible.

He smiles, and checks my closet.
"See? Nothing there." He approaches my bed.
"You're safe with me. Come here."

Climbing in my bed after locking the doors.
I can hear his heartbeat steadily increasing.
As he excites himself with anticipation.

I cannot tell if I'm shaking from the cold or fear.
I should have never called out.
His body is crushing mine, I feel darkness all around.

I close my eyes, it's impossible to breathe.
I try to fight back but he is in control.
A thought grips, the monster once in my closet is now in my bed.
