Consigned to Oblivion

If you could be made to forget, would you?
Memories erased,
Spots removed from your mind.
The familiar feeling from a memory
Which is now but an echo,
Consigned to oblivion.
Would this bring joy?
Perhaps temporary relief
From the everyday reminder
Of the sorrows you carry.
Who are you without the hurts,
failures,
disappointments,
heartaches?
From your mind, you can erase them,
The heart is a different story.
Don’t waste another day,
Love the sky falling.
