My Fallen Angel
Dark angel flying high
In the night’s lonely sky
You look so tired and worn
Looking for love in the Devil’s scorn
Your fall was caused by pure evil
Though angels should be able to resist the Devil
Your wings once white are now all black
Rotting symbols of your treacherous act
You played with fire and you got burned
You’ve seen others fall. You should have learned
You were tempted by one of the sins
Though you didn’t know until it was too late, my friend
By then your transformation was already complete
And your future saturated with defeat
Still “Why do you care?” you may ask
Well this angel and I have a common past
This dark angel was once my lover
He was my best friend, my love, almost a brother
He was such an honest, hardworking, good man
It’s just too bad that he was sucked into crime like quick sand
He fell into a rut and had a family to support
So he started stealing and selling drugs and the sort
He’d only been trying to make our lives all right
But the people he got caught up in didn’t care. They just wanted his life.
I lost a lot that cold December evening
But now, bages all packed, I’m eager to be leaving
I’m ready to go and see my imperfect angel
And stay with him for eternity to be with my fallen male
In the night’s lonely sky
You look so tired and worn
Looking for love in the Devil’s scorn
Your fall was caused by pure evil
Though angels should be able to resist the Devil
Your wings once white are now all black
Rotting symbols of your treacherous act
You played with fire and you got burned
You’ve seen others fall. You should have learned
You were tempted by one of the sins
Though you didn’t know until it was too late, my friend
By then your transformation was already complete
And your future saturated with defeat
Still “Why do you care?” you may ask
