Image for the poem Dead Aim

Dead Aim

He fondles the barrel of his gun
Caressing steel, calls it "hon"
This AR-15 has a kick
But center mass, his aim is quick

He claims that it's for home defense
Woe to those who climb the fence
They will learn the final lesson
Educated by a Smith and Wesson

He toes the body on the lawn
Blood spreading with the coming dawn
No reason for undue alarm
His semi-auto hasn't lost its charm.
