I Keep Myself
I keep myself tame
In hopes that someone will have the misconception
That they can control me
I keep myself small
In hopes that someone will size themselves against me
And not see who makes them fall
I keep myself quiet
In hopes that someone will adjust their volume
So they never hear me coming
I keep myself tightly wound
In hopes that someone will attempt to untangle me
Only to be trapped by me
I keep myself stupid
In hopes that someone will have the adactity
To think they're the smartest one in the room
I keep myself shy
In hopes that someone will open up to me
Show me where the weaknesses lie
I keep myself timid
In hopes that someone will try to walk all over me
So they never see how they lose their feet
I keep myself
So no one else may
In hopes that someone will have the misconception
That they can control me
I keep myself small
In hopes that someone will size themselves against me
And not see who makes them fall
I keep myself quiet
In hopes that someone will adjust their volume
So they never hear me coming
I keep myself tightly wound
In hopes that someone will attempt to untangle me
Only to be trapped by me
I keep myself stupid
In hopes that someone will have the adactity
To think they're the smartest one in the room
I keep myself shy
In hopes that someone will open up to me
Show me where the weaknesses lie
I keep myself timid
In hopes that someone will try to walk all over me
So they never see how they lose their feet
I keep myself
So no one else may
