Setting me aflame with words
Holy utterances that do not match
The sin I know you partake in
Fields of deflowering
Memories of your devouring
Put me down
You've angel sung wings
And the propensity to lie
I will not confine
To your will
To your way
To you

I Keep Myself
I keep myself tame
In hopes that someone will have the misconception
That they can control me
I keep myself small
In hopes that someone will size themselves against me
And not see who makes them fall
I keep myself quiet
In hopes that someone will adjust their volume
So they never hear me coming
I keep myself tightly wound
In hopes that someone will attempt to untangle me
Only to be trapped by me
I keep myself stupid
In hopes that someone will have the adactity
To think they're the smartest one in the...

Do you think flowers bloom, just for you to see?
Do you think the moon glows, beside you just to be?
Do you think the wind blows, just to touch your hair?
Do you think willows breathe, just to share your air?
Do you think the sun shines, just to see your face?

What I Like About You
What I like about you, you do not speak,
Two words more than you need.
What I like about you, the undefined,
Words you use to describe a mind.
What I like about you, the absence of breath,
In between words of a grand death.
What I like about you, is the trickling thought.
Consciousness that never slows into not.
What I like about you, are your highs.
The moments when you make me feel alive.
What I like about you, are your lows.
The moments when you make me feel your sorrow.

When You Make Humans Gods
I saw you hold a candle to your god and exclaim his imperfections
And in that moment I decided that I would forever follow you
I heard you say that the world wasn't broken, the people were
And in that moment I swore to help you right their wrongs
I felt your touch in every moment of my despair
As if you knew what kept me there
But then I saw you worshiping a doctrine I didn't know you subscribed
And in that moment I decided to find all you try to hide
But then I heard you say that people didn't need fixing, laws did ...
And in that moment I decided that I would forever follow you

You don't have good taste in men
Your first husband raped me
Your second sent me to the hospital
I pray there isn't a third
For more than my own sake
My sister is grown now, a little bigger than me
When I realized what the first really did to me
I fear the second will rationalize
The way he often does in his mind
And with his words
My brother is still small, a little smaller than me
When your first put more than his hands on me
