I just left Google Earth
After visiting my birthplace
Where I grew up
With dead and abandoned brothers
Viewing the park where we played
Occupied now by innumerable others
There used to be a soccer field
Where skateboards fly off rails
If I were to visit them
At their age
In my soccer gear
They wouldn't even look up
I can't leave it at that
Pointing to where I am now
Then back again
Between all those years
Memories built and destroyed
Hope and expectation
In the middle of our recreation
Divorce played a hand
As we moved along
The Time band
Music is another story
Pinning me by my ears
Drowning out sounds of Nature
In all night forays
As an individual my life is ablaze
Blowing sails from masts
Fixed by sudden stays
The party never stopped starting
Stealing silent ways
Get to the point you say
Even though I just did
I can't keep a lid on it
It's too beautiful for words
My life story
Blasted with laughter
Seriously
Not to stop here
I don't play games
If it's all the same to you
It's simply what happens
When you don't stop moving
Another time, another place
I get up and go
To the kitchen
Trying to let my body down
Slowly
Other times under bridges
All those places I once lived
Structurally still in place
Contours of cities
Inhabited by divisors
Vieing for space
Going about their daily lives
As humans in the face of it
Where we all come and go
I wonder
If I look at Google Earth long enough
Will I appear
Just as I see myself
There
The impact of imminence
With essential eminence
Yield enough evidence
That when you were where you were
You were that what you are
From up close or from afar
I fling my Google Gaze
Toward the stars
After visiting my birthplace
Where I grew up
With dead and abandoned brothers
Viewing the park where we played
Occupied now by innumerable others
There used to be a soccer field
Where skateboards fly off rails
If I were to visit them
