The simplicity of dullness

I am a dull girl
oh it seems simple to be dull
but it is not

you have to work on it
when people tell you
that you are dull you sigh
thankful
that today you are not noticed

Being noticed means
guys are watching you
and that makes you scared
and that also means dates

out of all things dates are fricken scary
shit!

He walked up to you and said hi
you blushed and mumbled
a hi back

He asks if you have lunch plans
you say no, you don't eat lunch here
he asks if he can take you to lunch

he is cute and also fairly popular
unlike yourself
if you knew any better
you would say that it was a prank
but you know better than to judge
people by their outside
appearance,
you were taught better than that.

So you go on a lunch
the first think he said was
-you are a very dull girl arn't you?
you replied truthfully,
you said that you didn't like attention
he smiled
-you are lucky,
you don't like the attention, and
neither do i

oh this was very different
one of the most popular guys telling me he wants
to be dull, oh wow

-well i liked hanging out with you,
maybe we can do this again tomorrow?
my face fell to red again,
i nodded
he kissed my cheek and left.
