leave me
amongst the ruins
for they
are the new growth
nature
reclaiming
the grounds and
everything that stood
when
the dementia
under alzheimers become
i
leave me there
whilst i sleep
in sweet oblivion
the surrounds
offer
nothing
but peace
'course
it'll be hard
for those
the conscious
but this
is not just
my wish
this
is
my will
conscious
and
thought out
.

Oh ... this one made me tear up. I have a grandparent with dementia. How sad, but beautiful

well, i have seen from up close the nature and the affect of this. And there is no known cure yet, and i have no issues with that if that time comes for me personally, for life has truly been blessed. And i wish others see what i see. And not to mention the affect of the aforementioned on the near ones. Dementia is but one effect of Alzheimers.
This scribble also delves on the beauty and the reality, that nature- over time, reclaims everything we think we have for ourselves, secured. And of course, the serenity in her lap, be it reclaimed territory or not. I believe ruins, have their own haunting beauty.
So making them my abode would at least do something in the new growth.

on perfect sync i feel..when u say about ruins..their haunting beauty & peace, being part of nature & newnessness underway as if in constant rejuvenations. the title & L1 caught me.. utterly moving piece in there & from there on as u load in the heaviness & your instincts...afterall, nature is the solace. ever. feel the lightness.
soulful & soothing are this sleep & sweet oblivion, part of a blessed journey. feels wordless beyond this now..
light n love ev

I lost my own Grammy and recently my father to Alzheimer's, it truly ravishes not only the human mind but the spirit as well. You have a way of writing that cuts to the marrow of thought & provoking inner reflection's, throughly enjoyed. Respectfully,

I have lost my Grandad, and other relatives to the same. Have lived and seen the last years of their lives, speechless and most part immobile. The effect of their condition on them and on the hearts, minds and spirits of all the loved ones. And it is the latter that had compelled me to ink the above.

My father was always a big man, 6'5, deep deep baritone, right before his death on thanksgiving I, all of 5'0, towered over him. Awful, my mother passed from a brain anyerism, my Grammy & daddy from Alzheimer's. Sad state of affairs & more than likely how I'll go, I'm at peace with it. I believe in karma, so long as I continue to speak truth & cause no ill will I'm at peace. Loved this work, reflection does the soul good. Respectfully,

Sad indeed to learn of the grief and times that we wish not to visit upon anyone. Tough for us just to learn but only you have truly felt it and borne it. For all the near ones, to see them go and like that.
Yes, firm believer here, in Karma. And can thankfully say life and the blessings i have in it has got something to do with that. Wish nothing but good and good times for my Friends!
yes, reflection indeed does help.
warm regards
