Behind each face lies a story
Written by experience
Penned in pain, etched with smiles
Souls weighted with unspeakable truths
And unforgettable lies
Tethered memories run for miles
You can’t know the tale by cover alone
Details strewn about pages
Rarely found laced in gold
Drink in every word, sentence and mark
As petals on spring’s first flower
Watch a person unfold

Author's Note
Society has become so intensely focused on surface beauty. By that I mean if it doesn't seem good at first glance we toss it aside. In the age of instant gratification, something better is a swipe away.
It is so easy to forget that behind the images we all project is the long history of how we got there. It is journeying through someone else's story that allows us to truly to know and love them.
We are all living, breathing, walking messes. And in that we find a commonality with each other. That is what this piece is about. True connection and love (in all forms) between us all.

i love the words used in this and the ending is really good. so much of what we are .. and what we experience lives under the surface and is to be told , either we tell our story or somebody else tries find out whats underneath the surface. i love your idea of a book , we only know what is within when we delve into a book to find out .
