I had a heart I wouldn’t let anyone see,
Until you cut me open and took it away from me.
You sewed me back together with a goodbye kiss,
With a hole in my chest,
It’s my heart I miss

I liked the form...rhyme...the sentiment...your heart is still where it always is else how could you write these words...keep on rhyming....

Wow, this expresses well the heartache one feels when two lovers part or one in betrayed. In the second to last line did you mean to say "hole." Brava!

The pain that others can't see and feel
Makes it seem like that pain doesn't exist
This just makes it worse for the one who is suffering
Because people don't understand what they do not see, hear, smell, taste and touch
Wounds and scars that are invisible to mere mortals
Either are not understood or have an unacknowledged and unaccepted presence
