Amber 2 (Unforgiven)
Path clear, plans sincere
Retribution for all those years
You took my life away
Beating me worse day after day
Hate is what my love became
Playing your fucking mind game
You should have just left me alone
but just had to pick up the phone
Just wanted to apologize
but we both knew those were lies
You could never change
the Idea of love is strange
Your words, yet I gave myself to you
If then I only knew
your abusive behavior
but I am your new wife's savior
The sun sets, as the night mourns
an approaching storm, as thunder warns
he makes his way to his door
"So you have a new whore.
a new pet for your game?
Oh wait, it was the drink to blame.
Do you hit her?
Never, I'm sure.
You were easy to find
I got your friend request and message
which I declined.
Why didn't you just leave me alone?
I should have known...
but you couldn't just leave it be
You couldn't allow me to be free."
Raindrops fall from the sky
As the gun comes up chest high
my nerves begin to quake
my mind starts to ache.
I want to squeeze the trigger
His eyes grow bigger
as she comes screaming out the door
as the thunder roars.
"Please don't take him from my boy
you will destroy
the family we finally made
I know what he did, and it will never be repaid
But I told him to find you
because I knew.
I am sorry if it caused you harm
but please don't do this.
this life is mine and his.
He doesn't hit anymore."
as the sirens roar
tears fall from my eyes
Did I fill my own mind with lies?
Has he changed?
Am I just deranged?
I fall to my hands and knees
listening to her pleas.
Tossing the gun to the side
as handcuffs are quickly applied
as the rain pours down upon my soul
Torment took its toll
"You were right...
he beats us every night."
As I stare at the young boy,
soaking in the rain holding a stuffed toy
and there I am locked in a car's cage
with an incurable rage...
