Everyone could see the trapdoor but me
I fall away from everyone
fighting for what I could
wondering what I had failed to see
feels like the end of the...
No. Don't fall through that trapdoor.
I could blame you but...
it's time to focus on me.

Author's Note
This is for another competition! It was inspired by, Sarah Kaye and Phil Kay. Their poem, "When love arrives," truly speaks to me. Read the last word of every line... don't tell me what it says because I already know. Just tell me what ts telling you.

Always should focus on you. A stronger you will make you stronger in relationships. That’s just what I believe through. Great poem 😁

Another deeply revealing write Jess! You speak volumes in your verse...
Seems like it's never easy to see the forest for the trees... like looking for your glasses when they are on your nose. But hindsight can only focus on the past and you are living in he moment. Whoever else may be to blame, look within for the answers. If you keep your own self-interests close to your heart, you will levitate above that which is beneath you...

Some times it's hard to look under the rug while sweeping the dirt there, especially if it doesn't seem to accumulate.
Insightful write.
