big hurt?
bigger
is her heart
not because
she called me 'my heart'
but because her heart
is an ocean
yet she keeps tamed
the wild undercurrents
of pain
and sorrows
her affection
the surf of the breakers
she has the power to drag and drown
if she wishes to unleash her rips
on anyone
she chooses not to
for her love
is grand!
her wisdom
her harbour of patience
tolerating the most toxic of ships
for she knows
like the toxic fleets before
this too
shall pass!

The metaphor of deep waters as it relates to the depths of an individual has always described such a beauty to me. Often one may find that those with the biggest hearts also contain great sorrows within; capable of sharing swells of affection that, when the tide withdraws, can leave us shipwrecked, yet they remain resilient.

yes, indeed they're the ones, most of the times.

There are those souls who refuse to give in to the darkness that passes them. Their love is buoyant and keeps them afloat. Much enjoyed this poem and its message

Yes, again like the peer above, spot on re the resilience and refusal to give in to darkness is but beyond human. Well, the buoyancy of their love is what keeps not only them but many others afloat too.

Whether vacationer or reside on the shores of such a beautiful ocean,
one is most fortunate to walk the smooth sands, bathed in cool
breezes and warm rays, where even when the occasional stones are carried
ashore by life's storms, the sharp edges have been worn dull by the currents
unseen.
The poet, like many of us, is counting his blessings here.
