The Pact

The water was now cold
The bubble bath frothless
The water scarlet
The light catches a glint
A star light reflection
Something beneath the waves
Possibly pirate treasure

Lying quietly I hear
Drip, drip,  drip, drip
Like leaking plumbing
I put my hand back in
The water, the dripping stops

I look to the floor and see
A crimson puddle that wasn't
There this morning

This is taking too long
I pick out of the water
The glinting treasure
A nearly new razor blade
Only used once

Must try harder:

That's better; much better
The drip becomes a flow
And I drift out
To meet you
And we are
Together again
Once more
