Apparition Poetry: a new type of poetry?
Apparition Poetry
[ap-uh-rish-uh n] [poh-i-tree]
Line for line reading another's poem and writing whatever comes to mind (I.e. Taste, touch, sight, smell, hearing,memory,thought,dream,etc.).
you can still push towards a certain form, but obviously not as much as constructing from scratch.
it is a style of word association.
anything that appears, especially something remarkable or a startling manifestation of prose with poetic qualities.
if reading a line and it does not turn an image, feeling, words for you in your mind, simply move on to the next line in the poem; continuing until complete.then revise until you're happy with it.
when you're finished put in the authors notes what poet and poem inspired the write paying tribute along with a link if you post it online.
it commonly works best with turning it into a free verse poem but can be turned into any style poetry you wish.

short poem example:
"And the days are not full enough" by Ezra Pound
And the days are not full enough
And the nights are not full enough
And life slips by like a field mouse
Not shaking the grass
"and this wood mouse is our least concern " by Samael
the moon he sat smiling
and the stars laid & laughed
as the Panzer tracks grew to one hundred-ton monsters
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Long poem example:
this original poem by Crimsin is the original piece, or the inspiration
"where real men love" by Crimsin
summer's daisies
have all lost their petals
to the cold winter's chill
they are reminiscent
of our lust, love affair
vibrant & bright
then faded like my beauty
at first frost
with a cold shoulder
you turned away
as my youth's last bloom wilted
& dropped
i lovingly press this fallen blossom
in my heart's chambers
where my feelings for you never die
inside me a lover's sun
always shines bright
nourishing my love
like summer's wildflowers
my passion can't be tamed
natures own flowers
in dazzling array
dot the country side
are weeds to some
but lover,
beauty is in the eye of the beholder
witness my spirit
as it runs with the wind
my blonde hair
wreathed with nature's own
there is no taming the air
& so it is with my soul
it can't be pinned down
within the conformity
of what a woman should be
i am barefoot in the sand
bare breasts bouncing free
flower of the wilderness
your lust of my looks is shallow
your water fails to nurture
even a hot house orchid;
high maintenance females of the world
whose bottom line is your money
i don't weep for faded beauty
my soul's seeds are cast to the winds
with the knowledge
they will grow inside
the wild souls of real men
within their hearts are the open spaces
where true love can blossom
and here is the "Apparition" poem taking line for line the imagery and feelings manifesting from Crimsin's poem and what it turned inside myself.
"Love is like going through withdrawals" by Samael
Choking on the thin nights air
this card dealing dawn wasn’t fair
frost caught
nailed me to the cross
fixed horse races rode out
snuffed lawless flames
we bet with borrowed money and lost
linking us next in line for broken knuckles
the lights in your eyes was worth it at the time
i can’t begin to imagine what your suitcase looked like
that sunk in spot on the bed where you laid
laughs at me
and the choices i choke on
i pulled the trigger
losing this game of tic tac toe
i never wanted games
but the grace of your hand on my face
falling to hold
this ache ate me from the inside out
combustion engine
spitfire
hell fire
exhaust covering with smoke
smothering
like cigarettes silk lines
longing for a taste of you
speckled reds and blues like fancy chocolate
mixed by makers minds
dropped on parchment paper
with Love from longing eyes
arrogant dollar signs singing the blues
light fell as rain
split in tween
spindles of a thread
woven to watch the firefight
they taught us how to read
we taught them how to drown in flapping doves
staples on telephone poles
repeated a thousand times until its made of metal
corrosion caught us in the green green grasses picnic
she brought the basket and lustful looks
footprints found me wandering
took me in from the colds crippling sight
bumble bees bouncing from daisy to daffodil
pollination picking flowers for girls
in long Perrotine printing block dresses
among the cities bustling marketplace
drinking long necks i saw you
and no sound crept from my jaw
fictional is the man i am today
troublesome is the touch i gave
don’t grant me guiding brights
i’d just lead you to the dead end swamps
cut
washed
ready to be ravished like the medicine cabinet
strungout
i went to give you honey and sugar
but laughed when i leaned in for a kiss
like a burr
i’ll travel through cotton fields
on strangers cuffs
departing in South American villas as i please
morning glories making holes in the tin roof
we’re in the wind so no repairmen
hammers to nails
knock on wood amidst the winds song
in death you smiled
warmed my hands with breath
the end was always you and me
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
let me know what you think or if you have any questions.i love me some harsh criticism lol.
