I lie in the dark
A dark veil covering my world
Ink drowning my view
Black coating every corner
Seeping into every inch
In a damp corner I lie
You walk into my dark
Holding a candle
The tiny flame flickering
Illuminating the dark
Causing rippling dancing patterns
I inch closer to feel the heat
To feel the flame lick my skin
My movement causes a gust
That smothers the flame
The dark blanket drapes down
Somehow darker and colder
A small smoke trail slowly fades
Taking with it
The memory of your light
Once again
I lie in the dark
Ink drowning my view
Black coating every corner
Seeping into every inch
In a damp corner I lie
You walk into my dark
Holding a candle
The tiny flame flickering
Illuminating the dark
Causing rippling dancing patterns
I inch closer to feel the heat
To feel the flame lick my skin
My movement causes a gust
That smothers the flame
The dark blanket drapes down
Somehow darker and colder
A small smoke trail slowly fades
Taking with it
The memory of your light
Once again
I lie in the dark
