A Chance From Above

Momma always said that beauty was in the eyes of the beholder
But as the woman looked around she could not help but see
That the stares had only grown colder.

Would she ever find love?
She had always known that she was very different
Any man that came her way would certainly be from above.

Scars that would forever stay with her
Inside and out, she would never be rid
Beauty, was definitely not her lure.

As she walked out of the store
She didn't see the man watching her
He noticed her flowing, red hair and followed her to see more.

Her pretty long legs that called to him to chase her
Her full red lips that he wanted to kiss
Oh, he wanted to love her for sure!

Then he noticed the scars on her face
But she had captivated his heart by now
He decided to tred at a slow pace.

He walked up to the woman who he had never met
Took her lips in his for the first time
Eased her fears and dried her face that was wet.

Never had anyone been so sweet
Or wanted to kiss her so deep
Especially upon their first meet.

As time went on and she began to see
This man who was gentle and kind
He never made her feel different, gross or ugly.

Her heart gave way to love
For this man who had taken a chance
A chance given to them from above.
