gritted teeth grinds the sand                
blown by the fist                
of the blackened night                
                 
beating down your resolve                
to walk on through the city streets                
waxing doldrums                  
enough to bring you to your knees                
                 
you answered with molotov cocktail poetics                
an explosion of words                
blowing down the day & night                
exciting me               
                 
on the horizon you spied a minx                
who exhaled poetry                
she inflamed your spirit                
& your poetic bones                
grew stronger with each verse                
                 
you read voraciously                  
starved                
for a prose match                
                 
she pirouetted thoughts                
& emotions                
then leapt into the universe                
a star shining, singing to its self                
waiting for an echo back                
                 
you answered                  
with powerful imagery                
ricocheting in my skull                
& blowing up                
preconceived thought                
                 
you taught me a new language                
where free falling thought flows                
& my mind is blown                
                 
your genius is now base                
to her breathtaking
