O! Christmas Eve! acrostic

O! Holy Night . . .  
 
Christmas came, so they say  
hidden in a lowly manger  
resting in peace, from its flight  
into arms of the angel
 
Signs were seen, among the stars  
through stilled midnight air  
moonlit dimmed, by Northern shards  
as far as Love could care  
 
Showing escape, aged and youth  
each heart delivered from grief  
“ Verily, verily, I gift you Truth  
every soul who chose belief! "
