House of The Dead

House of The Dead

The wind howls and ravages my dexterity.
Questions are forming against my sincerity.
Maybe it’s time for a change, growing tired of familiarity.
Loosen up, relax and drop the vulgarity.
Talent such as this a rarity?
Views of myself are complementarity,
however, I can’t shake the feeling of unpopularity.
Time will tell if these complex feelings contain any severity.
I’m upon my next visit, another house, at least we are keeping geometrical regularity.

I open the front door and enter a house that’s cold and dark.
Seems like the power has been off since the country was ruled by a monarch.
The architecture is vintage 18th century.
Could be worse, could be an abandoned penitentiary.
Sorrow consumes this place.
Negativity engulfs every inch of space.
I’m surrounded here…
surrounded by the spirits of the dead.

Enter the kitchen with chills running down my spine.
Discover a woman looking out the window in a straight line.
I approach her and ask her why she remains here in this house.
Her head snaps around towards me and tells me she’s waiting for her spouse.
Tells me she hasn’t seen him in a long while and is afraid he is lost.
Her face is pale, appears aged and worn down and her eyes scream that she lived through the holocaust.

I place my hand on the woman and tell her that it’s time for her to move on from this place.
She looks at me with a confused look on her face.
Tells me that this is her home and shouldn’t dare leave without her beloved.
I tell her there is more for her up above.
She looks at me again confused and asks me what exactly am I doing in her home.
I can’t get over her face, such a stunning monochrome.
I tell her it’s time for her to leave this house and move on to the other side,
where her husband is most likely waiting for her so he can be her guide.
She tells me I know nothing of her and to leave her alone.
I bid my farewell politely trying not to condone.

I enter the living room and come across a man.
He looks at me with determination in his faded eyes like he actually has an intelligent plan.
He tells me I am in the wrong place and shouldn’t be here.
I tell him it shouldn’t be much longer before I disappear.
He warns me to leave the house or face serious consequences.
I tell him to calm down and knock off his nonsense.
I ask him why he remains in this house.
He tells me the scurry along like a mouse.
“You need to move on and head towards the light of the other side.
Come to terms with the fact that you died.”
Again, I’m warned to leave his presence, so I cut my losses and move away from him,
his eyes continuing to stare at me, they feel so grim.

I head upstairs and discover another man sitting in a chair in a bedroom.
I approach with caution sensing doom.
Before I say a word the man tells me I am in the wrong place.
He asks me how I managed to find my way here and to cut to the chase.
I tell him I’m here to help him and want him to move on the other side.
Everyone in this house needs to come to terms with the fact that they died.
He tells me to go back to my own world and leave him be.
I tell him I want to help him and set his trapped spirit free.

“I told you to leave!!!” I hear behind me as the man from down stairs enters the bedroom.
He puts his hands on my shoulders and yells at me once again to leave.

My eyes jolt open to a room of darkness and uneasiness.
I look over to my alarm clock,
it tells me it’s 3 am.
I look towards the bedroom door and out into the living room.
I notice two dark figures walking around.
One man, one woman.
The man from the living room appears in front of the bedroom door.
Looks at me angrily knowing he shouldn’t be here.
