Body Image Of A Young Woman

It all comes down to some number on a scale,
I look in the mirror and all I think is ‘whale’.
I was proud of myself for losing some pounds,
A week goes by and all that loss piles back around.
Is it the insta-world we live in from that I compare,
Or is it being self-conscious and in constant need of repair.
Sometimes I think these things shouldn’t matter,
But nobody likes you when you are fatter.
