let's run away, escape today
forget who we've become
be again the very same
innocently one
consciousness, without the mess
of egos so perturbed
let's run away, escape today
no longer be disturbed
what's coalesced we must confess
is not what we desired
let's let go into the flow
no longer being mired
in a stream in which we dream
we can float away
let's disappear to a near
state of mind at play
be again the very same

and love who we've become

I adore the playful, sing-song meter of this poem. It conjures images of childhood friends, grown apart by life and trauma, joining hands again as older women, daring to skip again down a vacant lane.
Yes, my imagination often runs right off with me. However, it rarely does so unless I am engaged in the writing, so kudos to you - from both me and my imagination.
