veins " -this it reminds me of a fawn how it's light and jumps leaving us feeling warm and fuzzy

"virtuoso undertow"- drown me in history lol

of banal habit "- this makes me think of the "Peanuts" episode where snoopy is the red baron and flys his dog house around...too cool.
it really does make me think of WW1 air battles though.

genes " - avant-garde is a blast from the past and the fact that's it's being weaved from sighs and genes are priceless.

I really enjoyed the imagery in this but I fear something is amiss in my brain. I don't understand what a "genealogy piece" is or how it relates to the poem. Help me understand this, please... maybe I need to read it a fourth time, or perhaps I need a nap...

I probably didn't explain well enough, no worries! Just reflecting on your genealogy, and any connections you may feel toward an area or country of origin. Personally I'm about 1/5-1/4 French (nobody is certain, some family was adopted), so I was musing about that. I always have felt really drawn toward the French outlook on life in general.

It was just a writing prompt I thought of as a way to explore one's roots. Sadly, I haven't even been to France yet.

Thank you for the explanation. That makes sense. Our family has a very detailed tree going back to England on my father's side. But our Irish roots are completely unexplored and my mother's side are possibly German, French and Austrian, but no one is really sure. Thinking about sending in a DNA swab to Ancestry to see what comes back.

Cool!! Yes, it's really interesting. I have German, Irish, and a wee bit of English too 😊 My largest chunk is actually Lithuanian though, which is more visibly obvious. But I "feel" more Fench personality-wise than anyrhing. It would be worth the money I think, you should go for it! Please report back if you do.
