A Man Of The Clock
*reworked from a previous piece, sharing the original first stanza*
Light, as a feather
Stiff, as a board
If you bend, if you give in
You break as locks do for hordes
In the dark, an endless night
Your birthfire will go keystone cold
So if seeing is truly believing
You might, like the blind, never know
All the better to destroy you
Where does the circle begin? It's awfully relative
Follow the compass within, develop evidence
Give up your gun and your sin, repent, but then again
Some devils that I've met have lit the way better than reverends
Yeah, who's burning, man?
Nights are getting longer, shadows stronger
Dawn is gonna break
If heaven sends another savior
Son, he'd better spectate
And wait until the strong arm atrophies
Light, as a feather
Stiff, as a board
If you bend, if you give in
You break as locks do for hordes
In the dark, an endless night
Your birthfire will go keystone cold
So if seeing is truly believing
You might, like the blind, never know
All the better to destroy you
Where does the circle begin? It's awfully relative
Follow the compass within, develop evidence
Give up your gun and your sin, repent, but then again
Some devils that I've met have lit the way better than reverends
Yeah, who's burning, man?
Nights are getting longer, shadows stronger
Dawn is gonna break
If heaven sends another savior
Son, he'd better spectate
And wait until the strong arm atrophies
