TO ONE DISTANT BUT FANCIED
Often online one meets someone
Who charms you with beauty and fun,
But - curses - lives so far away,
You could not reach them in a day.
Such situations tantalise,
You even start to fantasise:
They start to get under your skin,
Is this a chemistry within?
If she were but "the girl next door",
I'd make some move, and not ignore
The cry I sense come from the heart.
I'd write a message that would start:
"If you lived but next door to me,
I'd offer you my company,
No strings attached, no questions ask,
Just in your warmth and wit to bask..."
Who charms you with beauty and fun,
But - curses - lives so far away,
You could not reach them in a day.
