Frog
Cling on, a little longer.
At least until you fall off.
Keep plugging, don’t stop.
Until you know you’ve had enough.
Climb your walls, take your falls,
Reach up and grab that hand,
So it can let you go. The chasms
Below offer more comfort than
Those you trust. You will rust
Alone. This is your new home.
Welcome to solitude. Throw away
The beatitudes, carry the guilt like
A brood. Hide in the caves,
Starve on the craves, build a cross,
Walk the road. Curl up and get
Stoned.
