Lady Liberty's American Dream

Lady Liberty was asleep and had an American dream
But once she WOKE up things weren't as they seemed
That dream quickly evolved into a horrible nightmare
Everytime she turns around there's an act of terror here
Mass shootings coming left and coming right
With increases in hate groups like the alt-right
Discrimination populating from afar and from near
Because of ones race or because they are queer
Many people are struggling to earn a living wage
While more jobs are being outsourced everyday
And most folks proclaiming to be patriots
Need laxatives because they're full of shit
How are you patriotic & only concerned with YOUR pockets
You've never served this country in any type of manner so stop it
The fakeness of existence is hard for her to stomach
The stinch of society's bullshit causes her to vomit
She wants to pop some Ambien so she can go back to sleep
Because she's conscious that many of the people are sheeps
Ignorance is bliss but she's already removed her veil
So now it's impossible for her to ignore this living hell
