To The Lonely Mothers
To the lonely mothers feeling kicks in the womb
Did you believe that you would be a parent so soon?
Wondering why the father ran away
Praying he would change his mind one day
To the lonely mothers holding their newborns close
Look at your blessing and let them know
That they are loved and will never want
You will give them the world and then some
To the lonely mothers out here struggling on the job
Take time to breath and talk to God
"My baby is my world, but I knew I wasn't ready"
Remember that HE didn't give you a child as a burden to carry
To the lonely mothers trying to make baby daddies respect
Not walk away from her and let the child see neglect
You helped in bringing me into the world
Guys remember that when looking at your little boy or girl
To the lonely mothers finally getting it together
It takes a lot to leave behind the storms for better weather
We struggle as one, loving our children more than air
Some still wish there was a man who cared
To the lonely mothers making their way through school
Always remind your baby of this simple but golden rule
Them going to college is forever important
Life in these streets gets your life shortened
To the lonely mothers around the world
Watching their little sleep or wake
Love and cherish your baby boys and girls
They are yours, ours, mines, and God's children always
Did you believe that you would be a parent so soon?
Wondering why the father ran away
Praying he would change his mind one day
