I hear

I hear them say that it doesn't exist
A love that is true
I refuse to believe what they say
I'll keep trying
That's what I'll do

I hear them say that I better think about myself
Really, every time I do I miss things
Wrapped up in a fog of self
Missing the little things

I hear them say attraction is the start to everything
Maybe so, depends on what you are attracted to
Is it the body, face or soul
I say we have to search ourselves to know what we want them to do

My opinion, what I hear
It matters, maybe not
Love, fear
Where one is present the other may stop

Yet, I hear them say
The kiss, gentle and pure
Holding hands seems to cure
Day by day, always knowing and sure
Makes love worth fighting for and so we endure

I hear them say to go play a while
Go out and show that smile
I do
Just don't want to play the games of a child

I hear them say its hopeless
So now I stay away
That way I don't hear
I don't hear what they have to say

I am fine until love hits me
Of that, to myself I stand clear
Reguardless of what they say
I know love is inside me, here
