Retail Therapy

Retail therapy can become a very detrimental thing
By consuming items for the short joy that they bring
As with any vice, we've got to have some moderation
To avoid putting ourselves into a much worse situation

Consumerism can easily progress to becoming an addiction
Causing one to lose sight of their financial goals & their visions
And, if not careful, can put us even further into a debtor's prison
With a sentence in which we'll endure an extremely painful lesson

Emotional stability and self discipline at times are hard to maintain
When journeying across the roads of life trying to stay in our lane
Where heavy turbulence has a tendency of causing immense pain
Driving you to a destination of borderline craziness or totally insane

Overindulgence in an array of many things can have the same results
Self inflicting additional wounds due to our own jaded inner thoughts
Mental health issues can cause missteps in this game that we're playing
Pick your poison wisely is what I'm advising and the point that I'm making
