the ancient song
tranquil notes
stir my aching heart
music i hum to
because i've forgotten
the words
sung in a foreign
& ancient tongue
if you listen closely
it's gently playing
in the gush of the wind
the crashing of the waves
among the wildflowers
as they smile at the sun
all nature harmonizes
within this great melody
i find myself out of flow
& out of step
with all that is natural
the universe its self
knows the words
to the song i speak of
i wonder can you hear it too?
i knew it once
it was written in my heart
before i came to this world
& took my first breath
as a mortal child
with a great awakening
i realize it is poetry's own
written on the wind
in the ocean deep
scribe on the wildflowers
& engraved on my very soul

My Lady Crim, this is a most fitting tribute to where poetry rests. It is when we hum poetry's song, the words come to us, as in this poem. There are no set words to the music, for the music awaits it's lyrics from the heart of the listener.
Sing on, oh poetess, sing on.
Sing on, oh poetess, sing on.

Magnificent imagery with a musical flow.
Telling middle bit:
"i find myself out of flow
& out of step
with all that is natural"
Yet still you harmonize with nature in your poetry...

This one brings to mind homesickness for a place the body has never been but our spirits remember longingly. Such a peaceful and beautiful poem, lovely Dark Angel. I do so love you

The lyrics may be forgotten but the magic is still there. You have it in abundance, and apply it in your own lines with genius.
Well done, Lady Crim!

Poetry and you my love go together like peas and carrots just as the sun and wildflowers which bloom...they are meant to always be together...you leave us breathless with your vivid imagery and take us to places we can only dream of.
