Generations Misunderstood

I used to get picked on at school.
"Is your hair real?" they asked when they knew the answer.. after a while i stopped saying yes
and left their minds to wander.

Pre-Conceived notions made about me because of my race,
generations and generations before that have caused this and not one  "No Bullying" sign could fix what was embedded in the ground along with the bodies of dead slaves.

Hearing comments saying "I would never date a black girl"
Oh really?,
But you want to feel our sun kissed skin?
But you want to rub and caress our full, rounded and vivacious chest and bottoms?

I am not the color of the night sky, or ink.
I am brown and proud.
Our generation and generations after will not be misunderstood.
They will be heard, I will make sure of it.
