And All The Wars Were Won
rage
a dying sun sinking low in the sky
the cry of a vulture starving in a wasteland
a city of burning stone
cracks in the faces of the people who once called it home
but now vanish into the dust
toy soldiers melted down onto pavements
book pages fluttering in winds too hot to bring any comfort
dead and hollow shells stand guard
war scarred children who no longer sing
gods who no longer answer prayers
leaders who cower and slink away
flags trampled under feet
the symbol of a nation brought to its knees
guns pressed to the backs of heads as final words are spoken
fight
rage and fight
we've not lost yet
we're not lost
a dying sun sinking low in the sky
the cry of a vulture starving in a wasteland
a city of burning stone
cracks in the faces of the people who once called it home
but now vanish into the dust
toy soldiers melted down onto pavements
book pages fluttering in winds too hot to bring any comfort
dead and hollow shells stand guard
war scarred children who no longer sing
gods who no longer answer prayers
leaders who cower and slink away
flags trampled under feet
the symbol of a nation brought to its knees
guns pressed to the backs of heads as final words are spoken
fight
rage and fight
we've not lost yet
we're not lost
