Sunny Day
She left me on a sunny day
I heard the devil say, "it's okay"
So I look to the sky, ask God why
While I sit here in this field and wait for His reply
The days just seem to slip away
Nights are getting harder to replay
Your memory just seems to always rewind
Like a broken record that skips back in time
I'm just a boy, lost in a field of green that's turned to gold
The sun feels warm but I'm still cold without you to hold
I remember giving you a cross as the wheat danced in the spring air
Now I stand with a stone in each hand and your cross to bear
Maybe one day I'll move on, find a new song
I question, were you right or was I wrong
I still hear the devil say, "it's okay"
But I still can't see the light on a sunny day
I'm just a boy, lost in a field of green that's turned to gold
The sun feels warm but I'm still cold without you to hold
I remember giving you a cross while the wheat danced in the spring air
Now I stand with a stone in each hand and your cross to bear
I heard the devil say, "it's okay"
So I look to the sky, ask God why
While I sit here in this field and wait for His reply
The days just seem to slip away
Nights are getting harder to replay
Your memory just seems to always rewind
