Sitting on my porch
Listening to rain
Pounding on metal
It leaks and pools dirty
As does everything
Dark Down Here
Deep in this gutter
Of sadness and fear
Of striving to rise
Of failing to meet
Of pondering questions
With answers not easy
Like how to live well
Treading foul offal
On the scraps
Of lower caste
Society?
