Dreamer
quit dreaming
get up shake up move up
show ambition
make something of yourself
don't be a slacker
or you'll never amount to anything
where is the fire in your belly
start a family
have a career
make lots of money
compete defeat
retire and retreat
so you can start
dreaming...

show ambition
make something of yourself
don't be a slacker
or you'll never amount to anything
where is the fire in your belly
start a family
have a career

OK mommy lol

Well, not that you wrote this for me or anything, but it sure sounds like my mother yelling at me, HA! Although she would add alot of negativity and get out of the house, it's my weekend off, and why can't you be more like your brothers. So I guess it's not really that much like what my mother would say, which explains why I like it so much. Why couldn't you have been my mommy? HAHA!!!

Well, if you're mom told you this kind of stuff, you certainly don't need another "mommy" on your case. I've have heard this kind of stuff from my parents and other people close to me for what seems like practically all my life. Especially the "fire in the belly" gets brought up a lot. To which I can only say and please excuse my language "What the f...? I have fire in my belly, except it's not the kind they want me to have. lol

lol, a part of me want to make a joke about a fire just below my belly that sometimes raises up just above my belly... but I better not go there, HA!

Yep!!! This brought back memories for sure. Remember my parents telling me the samething as a kid. I would never amount to anything. Well...I proved them wrong. I might not be who they want me to be, but I am somebody. :)

For me being somebody means being true to who you are, even if you are not "successful" in the eyes of the world. Not all of us enjoy the rat race!
Thanks for sharing your thoughts with me. ;)

Dreaming IS life, opening doors of wonder far beyond the blah of daily grind. A very nice piece.

Thank you very much for your comment. I have always been a dreamer and it seems I have always gotten flack from several family members for not being more of a driven, success oriented, down to earth, and practical type of individual. I don't care! I am happy that I am a dreamer and therefore able to perceive many colorful other worlds, which seem to remain hidden to others.
