Weeping willow

Dark summer nights
Fireflies dance across the sky
A peaceful breeze
Our gentle disguise
The weeping willow we rest under shields us from hateful murmurs
Encouraging our tragic demise
But your arms shield me
Withstanding every blow
Keeping me safe
Forever you will hold me
Your protective nature continues to grow
I rest my head on your chest
And sing lullabies
Light enough to drift in the wind
Long enough to reach the skies
You play with my hair
Nulling me to sleep
I'll know I'm safe when the last thing I see is the light in your eyes
Forever this moment lasts
In this dark summer night
While fireflies dance across the sky
A peaceful breeze
Our gentle disguise
The weeping willow we've made a home.
The weeping willow we call our own
The weeping willow... shields us from the things we don't need to know.
