Rainbow World
People are colors.
My best friend is fiery pink,
and my little brother is bright red.
Everyone always had one color,
until you.
You were every color of the rainbow.
You were an isolated orange, then a sunny yellow.
You were a passionate red, then a mischievous green.
Sometimes you were a cool and light-hearted blue,
and other times you were a fun and curious violet.
At first I was frightened by you,
because nobody had ever been multicolored.
But now I am in love with you, for the same reason.
You are everything
from red roses
to green lily-pads
to yellow sunflowers.
You are a meadow, filled with every color the eye can see.
You are everything.
And without you,
it would be a greyscale world.
