Betrayal

You think you know someone,
You think they care.
You understand each other,
While everything is shared.
You talk, you listen,
You even share your dreams.
You can tell them anything,
No matter how bad it seems.
Then they change,
You can’t even recognize them.
“Why won’t they talk to me,” you ask,
Because they’re not the same.
They cut you out,
Send you questioning.
Don’t even bat an eye,
Your mind goes spiraling.
They ask to talk,
“I don’t want to lose your friendship,” they say.
But then they ignore you,
“What the fuck happened the past 2 days?”
You continually ask,
You never understand.
They will never explain,
They don’t know it affected how you stand.
Your faith has been broken,
Unable to feel trust.
They have forever hurt you,
As your heart begins to rust.
You think you’ve made peace,
After what seems like forever.
They don’t even know,
They’ve caused a huge endeavor.
You say, “It’s whatever,”
You say you pay it no strife.
But you can’t deny yourself,
They’ve ruined your life.
