Many sorrows to bridge
Girl of silence, bite your tongue,
the angels know your secrets.
Your cotton gown flows free among them,
conspiring with sunbeams and dancing with dust motes.
We've come a long way, you and I
but hope falls eventually
and we die our little deaths,
one tear at a time.
Hide away your whittled heart,
if ever it should be returned.
Treasure the moon
and don't wake the sun.
Small and soft in your melencholy quilt,
your mismatched pillows,
may you rest well
among the brume and bruises.
I tried to love myself, but only broke my heart.

a woman, pensive & melancholy, Kas,
touched by too much sorrow & a little poetry;
how much beauty we find...

Yes we do, even under all the sorrow. Beauty hides in unlikely places, doesn't it? Thank you for such a beautiful comment, John. Always beautiful...

It's so much harder to love ourselves than to love others. But if we're going to give ourselves truly and fully, we have to learn. So much wistful sadness in this piece.

And a hard lesson to learn it is. In some cases more than others, it seems. Truly enjoyed hearing your thoughts, ash, thank you for sharing them with me...

Something intangible and delicate is woven throughout this <3 It reminds me of a feeling I can barely recollect, from years ago.

Thanks so much, Jaded one, finding the artwork for this one was a battle. I have to admit I had some help hunting, but I knew the instant I saw it...

My Sweet Kasai...it is so easy to love others and yet our biggest challenge is to love what we see every day staring back at ourselves...questioning whether or not we cause our own heartache and pains, making us loathe ourselves more, yes? One day when we truly love ourselves, truly and wholly, when those who tear our hearts cross our paths, we will be able to look back on it with a smile for the happy it brought us while also knowing we were too magnificent for them to handle...no exceptions and our hearts will remain whole....much love to you...

Oh yes, most definitely yes. Too magnificent to handle, love that, such a beautiful way of looking at it and I have to say, you are a very wise woman. It takes a special kind to see the beauty in such things. There you go, leaving me with another smile. Thanks so much, and right back at ya, sweet lady...

I've heard of Neitzsche, but never read. I'll have to check it out. Thanks for the input, Harry, and the kind comment as well...
